Project Success
Member Value via Development & Innovation Project
Packbridge was one of the partners in the development and innovation project DigIT Hub AI that ran from 2021-2023, funded by the EU and Tillväxtverket.
Thanks to Frontpac’s membership in Packbridge, alongside other companies, they had the opportunity to apply for support in developing an AI solution through the project. Frontpac was selected to move forward and received invaluable assistance and knowledge, not only to enhance their AI capabilities but also to automate and optimize their operations using cutting-edge AI technology.
The result was a fully automated order management process that reduced the time-consuming task of processing orders from five hours to just two minutes. Additionally, they received support in automating the reading and updating of their safety data sheets – a critical function, given their handling of chemicals in production. This ensured that accurate and up-to-date information was always available in their production workflow.
The project was a significant success for Frontpac, not only in terms of streamlining operations and ensuring quality but also in terms of recognition. Last year, Packbridge nominated them for the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences’ (IVA) annual Smart Industry competition, where they were named one of four finalists! The annual business competition Smart Industry was established in 2016 by Siemens, Teknikföretagen, and IVA. The winners represent various industries and business areas, but they all share a common denominator of truly smart digitalization. Frontpac’s CEO, Martin Enocson, believes this honorable mention further strengthens their position, with “Made in Sweden” serving as a key cornerstone for their continued growth.
Since the successful completion of the project, Martin Enocson and Frontpac have informed and inspired several other packaging leaders. They have shared their experience both through the attention gained from being a finalist in Smart Industry and through Packbridge seminars and networking events. This initiative encourages others to follow their example and begin their own AI journey, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of packaging companies and the overall packaging industry in Skåne.
