BrobyGrafiska creates new packaging courses
In 2002, BrobyGrafiska in Sunne received approval for the vocational course Packaging Design, a three-year programme aimed at building bridges between actors in the packaging industry and introducing students to the entire flow, from start to finish.
Now the course is having to be redesigned, as all vocational courses have been reduced to two years, meaning that the Packaging Design course has of necessity been reduced in scope. As a result the prepress, printing and production aspects have been removed from the course. Today, the programme is highly focused on design, construction and prototypes.
“We now want to overcome this by starting a new course which focuses on production and provides an insight into design. So we are seeking approval for a course in Graphic Packaging Production”, says Roland Vikberg, graphic technician at BrobyGrafiska.
“The two courses will complement each other.”
If the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education gives the green light for the programme in January, it can be up and running next autumn.
“We have also sought funding to start two additional courses, Digital Retail and Brand Development, in other words a course focusing on e-commerce, and Digital Packaging Printing and Automation Techniques. We are currently informing the industry about our plans and are happy to receive feedback and support”, says Roland Vikberg.
