Smart, intelligent and active packaging attracted a crowd to Sunne
It was apparent that smart, intelligent and active packaging is a subject that arouses interest when Packbridge Live was held in Sunne on December 15th. Around fifty people participated at BrobyGrafiska to listen to leading experts in the subject.
Recently AIPIA, Active and Intelligent Packaging Industry Association, arranged an international conference on the theme in Dutch Utrecht, where nearly two hundred and fifty participated, including a number of brand owners, which shows there’s still great interest in this subject. This type of packaging offers new opportunities, for example when it comes to keeping track of food sustainability, to ensure the authenticity of a product or providing a product something extra in order to stand out on the shelf. In the near future it seems the package will be a product in itself that can provide extra value after it has done its job to transport, protect and sell goods.
At this Packbridge Live there were speakers from Thin Film Electronics, Stora Enso, Pöyry and FibreForm, adressing the topic from different angles. Before the concluding panel discussion, representatives from BrobyGrafiska held a short presentation about how they work with the training program of packaging designers.
“We knew that it is a hot subject, but we were pleasantly surprised that there were so many participants. We will return to this theme”, says Johan Mårtensson, CEO of Packbridge.
“Next year we will further develop Packbridge Live, formerly known as Packbridge after 3. We will focus on five days during the year with different themes, which will also include workshops and new networking opportunities. More on the new concept will be available on our website after the holidays. ”
