Packbridge visited EmbaxPrint in Brno

On the occasion of the AdPack start-up meeting [read more here] representatives of the different clusters visited the EmbaxPrint packaging fair in Brno, in the Czech Republic. Packbridge represents packaging knowledge in the cluster, which otherwise consists of a nanotechnology and a plasma cluster and a plastics and food cluster. The idea was to spread a little more information about the status of packaging today to other project members.

EmbaxPrint markets itself as an international packaging fair, but unfortunately it was not quite like that when we arrived at the venue. EmbaxPrint was being held in a hall adjacent to a number of halls focusing on food. Present were primarily local representatives of international machine manufacturers, and although we talked to several of them, it was difficult to use this as a starting point for providing an update on the status of the packaging industry. A number of examples of Czech packaging solutions were represented, not least by the winners of the Czech packaging competition organised annually by Syba, the Czech and Slovak Packaging Association.

The representatives of the project will have a much better opportunity to update themselves on the subject of packaging in October. Then they will participate in Top Packaging Summit by Packbridge, which is our next physical meeting.
